Dr. Kathiria & his team visited flood affected Banaskatha and Patan districts

In recent heavy rains and floods several parts of Gujarat have impacted badly. Banaskantha & Patan districts of the State were terribly affected by the floods. To help, assess and review the loss of livestock and impact of floods, a team lead by the Chairman of Gujarat Gauseva and Gauchar Vikas board, Dr. Vallabh Kathiria has visited the badly affected Sidhhapur, Palanpur, Disa, Diyodar, Tetoda, Bhabhar and Suigam areas of North Gujarat. The team has visited on ground zero to help the people.

Due to this excessive rainfall in North Gujarat, livestock in Panjrapols, Gaushalas and privately owned were suffering the most. A huge number of cattle were drawn and died in the floods. In Tetoda gaushala, sudden rain destroyed everything. In Gaushalas and Panjrapols, due to water accumulation, entire stock of fodder gets wet and ruined. At many places shades, godowns and compound walls were destroyed. Private owners also suffered a huge loss of livestock. Still water is logged everywhere, no vehicles are able to reach many areas.

According to Dr. Kathiria, State Government did commendable relief work primarily. The work of the road repairing, supply of water, electricity restoration and telephone communication restoration work have been done immediately on priority bases. Government machinery also made instant arrangements for food and fodder. Many voluntary organizations and donors have also come forward to lend a helping hand. Relief work has been carrying out on a war footing.

Dr. Kathiria visited all these places along with concerned officers and shown sympathy to all the villagers, gaushala administrations and maldharis and assured all possible help to them. Dr. Kathiria also informed District Collectors, DDOs, Ministers and Secretaries of concerned department about the prevailing situation and suggested proper actions.

During this visit due to submerged roads, Dr. Kathiria travelled on the tractor and in some places he walked on water logged roads to meet the people and review the situation. During this visit Dr. Kathiria was accompanied by District BJP VP Dr. Ganeshbhai Patel, Shri Bhaskar Thakkar, GGV Board officials Dr. K.V.Patel, Dr. Nadogha and Rajkot based Cow lover and patriot Shri Mansukh Chappia in this tour.

Dr. Kathiria has prepared a detailed report about the ground realities and submitted to the State Government. He also appealed in his report to give a relief package to cow breeders, farmers, gaushala and panjrapols of this flood affected area.
